MCVO Chelsea Autocross and BBQ
9:00 am to ~4:00 pm
Sunday, September 23, 2018
The MCVO Autocross is a great opportunity to come out and play with your Viper on a safe, wide-open course at the Chrysler Chelsea Proving Grounds….Experience the horsepower and torque of your V10 on the massive Black Lake paved lot…It’s the perfect location for autocrossing.
Autocross is a form of motorsport that emphasizes safe and fun competition. An autocross is a timed event where drivers navigate one at a time through a temporary course marked by cones. Autocrossing places more emphasis on car handling and driver skill. Speeds generally do not exceed 70 MPH.
We will have classes for each Viper generation, Fastest Time of the Day and Fastest Female Driver. Trophies will be awarded to the winner of each class.
It’s a no pressure way to play with your car and have a ball. So, run for fast time or run for fun, or just come out for a good time and a great BBQ lunch. The cost is $20 per person and includes lunch and beverages.
Plan on arriving at Chelsea no later than 9:00 am; at 9:15 we will be given instructions and facility rules from CPG management; and at 9:30 we’ll drive into the facility.
All participants must be 18 years of age or older.
All cars will enter and leave the facility at the same time. Any member trailering their Viper to CPG shall plan on getting there early enough to unload the trailer in the employee parking lot outside the main gate. The road from the main gate to the autocross location is newly paved and much shorter than last year’s route. No trailers will be allowed in.
Members will be allowed one guest/2nd driver (2 people per Viper only, no additional guests).
A lot of work goes into putting on an such an event. Volunteers are needed on Saturday, September 22nd to help set up. If you can help we meet for breakfast at 7am or meet us at the gate of CPG at 8am. If you are planning on joining us for breakfast we are meeting at Uptown Coney located at 1555 So. Main in Chelsea.
