2020 Veterans Day Parade – Nov. 8th

Registration has closed

MCVO has been invited to participate in the 2020
Detroit Veterans Day Parade
The Metropolitan Detroit Veterans Coalition (MDVC) exists to give veterans a platform to serve their communities.  They seek to inspire patriotism through civic and patriotic events and community initiatives, bringing citizens, our youth, active military and veterans together for a common cause.

The MDVC will be having a Veterans Day Parade on November 8th.  The event will be broadcast/livestreamed so veterans and spectators can watch from the safety of their homes. Take a moment to view past parades on YouTube to see the many groups who participate, their enthusiasm and how much everyone is enjoying the event!

It is an honor for MCVO to be invited, with space for 12 Vipers, no less!
At this time, the details are being finalized, but we are being asked to present them with our list of interested members.

This is a Viper only event.

Participation is by invitation only and participants must wear face masks, practice social distancing and have their temperatures checked at sign in.

2020 Snakes in the Grass – Sept. 5

The Third Snakes in the Grass event will be September 5th at the beautiful and scenic Canterbury Village, where we’ll be partnering with our Cobra (GLCC) and Shelby (SAAC) friends.

Last year, we had a small turnout due to inclement weather and multiple events going on simultaneously.  This year we hope to see many more Vipers attending!

This is a great opportunity to make new friends, and enjoy coffee and donuts at Yates Cider Mill, as well as, visit the unique shops that Canterbury has to offer!

Lunch can be purchased at the restaurant, in the Village.

Canterbury Village is located at:
2359 Joslyn Ct, Orion Charter Township. You may click here for directions.

If you participate in this event, we ask that you stay safe, wear a mask, and practice social distancing.

For questions and additional information, you may contact Bruce Heckman, at (248) 760-1722.

2020 Culver’s Cruise – June 24th

Our very good friend, Bob Swartz, would like to invite our club members for a get-together, at Culver’s of Waterford.

Culver’s is known for their frozen custard & signature burgers made with Midwest beef & dairy.

Date/Time: Wednesday, June 24th, starting at 6:30pm
Location: Culver’s of Waterford, 7313 Highland Rd., Waterford.
You may click here for directions and click here for their menu.

Our Vipers will have their own coned-off area!

If you are concerned about ordering inside, Culver’s has drive-thru service.

Your coordinator requests that you not only maintain ’social distancing’ but also wear a face mask when not eating.
Thank you for making sure none of us contributes to spreading the virus.

We also suggest you bring a lawn chair, since there is a small patio and seating indoors is limited to 50 percent.

For those not familiar with this location, the easiest entry is at the light onto North Oakland Blvd, southbound
(though that road is very poor, so take it easy).

Also, there are many eateries in this vicinity, in case you don’t like Culver’s and their wonderful custard desserts!

Michigan Avian Experience – June 27th

Michigan Avian Experience
MCVO “Totally Free Event” – Saturday, June 27th, 2020

Michigan Avian Experience was created to capture our innate fascination with birds and flight.  Using non-releasable, wild native Michigan raptors (owls, eagles, hawks) as teaching partners, the organization will give an educational and entertaining show to our club members.
All of the raptors working with Michigan Avian Experience are unable to survive in the wild due to poorly healed injuries.  As avian predators, their wings, feet, and eyes need to be perfect in order to survive.  Even then, in some cases, it is estimated only 20% live into adulthood.

We will be able to experience these fascinating raptors, up close.

We must practice social distancing even though this event is held outdoors, and strongly recommend the wearing of masks.

8:30am – “Eastsiders”,
Meet at Dairy Queen, 28039 Mound Road, Warren Click here for directions.

The Eastsiders will then cross town and rendezvous with the Westsiders.

10:00am – “Westsiders”,

Please contact Mike Sutton with any questions, at 586-782-2225.
