MCVO Joyce Allen Enthusiast Award
In memory of Joyce Allen, MCVO's 2nd President, this award is presented on an annual basis to the MCVO Member who demonstrates their enthusiasm for the club and its members by attending, contributing and helping out at the various club functions throughout the year. Joyce Allen as President, incorporated and organized the club, creating officer and director positions, opening a bank account and transferring her enthusiasm to club members to get them involved. Committees were formed to organize and create events and activities, all leading to a stronger bond between our members that goes beyond the common interest in the Dodge Viper. This award, created in 1999 is symbolic in nature of keeping that enthusiasm and her memory alive within our club.
The candidate must be a member in good standing, and the period of time that is considered is from January to December. The award will be presented to the winner at the Spring Brunch.

Enthusiast points will be recorded by the event planner or senior member present and presented to the Board at the next scheduled Board Meeting.
Points will be awarded for each activity a member participates in. The member will receive the highest point award consistent with the point’s schedule. Members will only receive one point award per event,
i.e.: as planner and participant the award would be 6 points, not 7 points.
Points awards for the club newsletter will be awarded for each issue. The newsletter editor would receive yearly points for his position (which includes the editor’s column, collation and mailing), but could also receive points for articles on specific events or news. The Editor is responsible for recording enthusiast points for each edition of the newsletter.
Board members and appointees receive their point’s award for 1 year’s service and are awarded at the last Board meeting prior to the Spring Brunch. Partial awards for a portion of a year’s service are
at the board’s discretion.
The Club Secretary will keep a running tally of the points by member and event for a running 12 months beginning with the Spring Brunch and ending at the last board meeting prior to the next Spring Brunch. At that board meeting the tally will be audited with the club member achieving the highest point tally being named as the Joyce Allen Enthusiast Award recipient for the past year. The award will be kept secret until the Spring Brunch when the award will be presented.
