We’re Back to the West Side!

MCVO is pleased to announce our 26th Annual Spring Brunch!

This year’s Brunch will be at a new West Side location.
Rich Maccani, who is a member of the Italian American Club of Livonia, is working with Diane Cipponeri, to bring MCVO back to the West Side.

There will be reserved parking for our Vipers within view. No worries!
MCVO has generously subsidized this event.

We invite you to join your fellow Viperholics to renew friendships and make new ones!
With so many new members, this is a great event for everyone to meet and get to know each other.

Traditionally this is one of our largest events of the year.
In addition to a delicious buffet, we also have these important activities:

Vipers Corralled at Grand Prix – June 3rd


Friday, June 3rd is free admission day with public parking off-island and a shuttle ride onto the island.
Due to the lack of admission cost, a shuttle ride both ways promises’ to be less than optimal.

Our Motor Sports Director, Paul McClorey, has arranged for MCVO members to participate in the “on island” club corral.
The cost per car is $65 which admits everyone in the car.

You’re able to spend all day, enjoy one of Metro Detroit’s premier Car events, drive your Viper and know it’s parked safely in a reserved space.
(Being able to drive across the bridge in a line of track worthy cars isn’t too bad either!)

With continuous practice and qualifying sessions and open seating available in all grandstands, this promises to be a great “motor sports event.”

More Perks:
Attendees will enjoy access to all of the Grand Prix fan areas, including the Fifth Third Bank Paddock and the historic Scott Fountain – home of the Autotrader Winner’s Circle.

Schedule:
7:15am- meet at a location (to be determined) where Paul will distribute the parking passes.
7:30am- depart for the island
(Also, gates open for the event)
8:00am- First vehicles on the track
The event is open until 6pm and you may stay as long as you like.

This is a Viper-only event unless there is inclement weather, at which point the Grand Prix organizer will then allow daily drivers.

IMPORTANT:
We must have a minimum of 20 vehicles for the corral.
If we don’t get the 20 paid signups, MCVO’s participation in the corral parking has to be canceled.
All monies collected would then be refunded.

Please do not wait, your registration is very important as time is limited.

The cutoff for signup and payment is May 27th.
Late signups cannot be allowed as Paul has to go pay and retrieve our credentials.

2022 US Air Force Museum – June 4th


This is the 2nd of our day trips to the National Museum of the US Air Force

Covering 830,000 sq-ft in 4 huge buildings, walking shoes are recommended.  An impressive 350 aerospace vehicles and thousands of artifacts are all displayed indoors plus a food court is available for guests to purchase a snack or meal.

Admission is FREE

MCVO will be making a donation to help support this amazing museum.

June 4th is an “Open Plane” day featuring the Boeing B-17F Memphis Belle™.  You will be able to see inside the fully restored aircraft and experience the actual space where crew members spent long hours of boring and also stressful flights, interrupted by intense terror over enemy targets.

Another special feature available to us is the “American Sign Museum’s –
A Sign Maker’s Journey” displayed in the AFM “Kettering Hall”.
Learn about trends in illuminated signage during the 20th Century.
From the Lightbulb to Neon and Plastics, you will see signs not normally on display.

Saving the best for last……………..
Bob is working on permission for us to park our cars near some pretty impressive airplanes for a group photo.

We are pleased to announce, that the Godfather Bistro & Cigar Bar has invited us back, so our Snakes can gather.

This is our fourth Snakes Invade Shelby Township event, and our second going to Godfather’s.  We are also pleased to announce that we will be joining with the Great Lakes Cobra Club (GLCC) to bring you this unique event.

Our host, Brandon loves Vipers (and Cobra’s), and has opened his beautiful establishment to us.

The Bistro features a full bar, menu and fine cigars in a classic American Style atmosphere.

Plus, there’s a spacious outdoor patio where we can dine and enjoy adult beverages.
A large lawn surrounds the patio inviting us to relax and actually, spend time catching up with our MCVO and GLCC friends.

Our host is graciously offering attendees the following perks:

2022 EOI – Waterford Hills Track Day – July 15th


For those interested in the July 15th track day at Waterford Hills, the registration is now open!
We are only about 9 weeks away and space is limited.

First please go to www.trackilicious.com.  Locate the registration tab along the top and pull down to register.  This not an MCVO event, you are responsible for all costs which you’ll pay directly through the registration process.

Be sure to read all the information provided on the registration website.  As for the inspection of your car, you can do all those things yourself.

The www.motorsportreg.com website, that you’ll be directed to, is a good one and you’ll want to create an account.
You may be surprised at how many organizations utilize this site for their own events.

Second once you’ve completed their registration, please let us know, by coming back to this email and clicking on the “Sign Up Now” link below.  For us to park together at the track I need to know how much space to reserve or if you’d like to caravan.

Third The Trackilicious group has limited instructors.  After registering and completing our “Sign Up” page, please contact Eric, the organizer, for an instructor.
They DO NOT have loaner helmets
BE SURE TO BRING ONE
Helmets are MANDATORY, you won’t get on track without one.

Keep in mind this is a rain or shine event, no refunds (see the registration page for the details on this).
